Daniel Radcliffe addresses gay love scenes in new movie
Daniel Radcliffe has dismissed accusations that the gay sex scenes in new movie "Kill Your Darlings" are shocking, and branded the controversy around the film "strange."
The "Harry Potter" star portrays late, gay beat poet Allen Ginsberg in 1944, and engages in several homosexual love scenes. The British actor has long been a vocal supporter of gay rights and has worked closely with the Trevor Project, a nonprofit organization focused on crisis support and suicide prevention for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youths -- and he's baffled by the furor surrounding the movie.
He tells MTV News, "It's interesting that it's deemed shocking. For me, there's something very strange about that because we see straight sex scenes all the time. We've seen gay sex scenes before. I don't know why a gay sex scene should be any more shocking than a straight sex scene. Or both of them are equally un-shocking."
