Politician promises free weed, disappoints with tomato plants instead

Cincinnati mayoral candidate Jim Berns announced he was going to bless the people of the city with free marijuana plants at a public event, but those who turned out in support were instead gifted with a leafy tomato plant. Berns said the media stunt was to spread the word about his intent to "re-legalize marijuana." Since slinging around a controlled substance might hinder his campaign efforts, the bogus "pot" plants seem fair enough. Being photographed with a sign that said "Free marijuana plants" near a table of fake pot plants, however, was just a step too far. Who'd have thought a politician wouldn't deliver on a widely publicized promise?
