Olympic Village is a hotbed of booze and sex, athlete says
Olympic athletes are into scoring—not only on the field, but in the
bedroom as well. An exposé penned anonymously by
a former competitor for England reveals that when the games begin, Olympic
Village becomes one hot stew of booze and drunken sex. The author claims, for
instance, that organizers supplied 70,000 condoms to athletes at the 2000 Summer
Olympics in Sydney, and the stockpile was gone in a week. Days of glory, indeed.
Water bottles, meanwhile, are used as flasks and weed is routinely smuggled in,
according to the tell-all book "The Secret Olympics." Still, the image of the
games remains unsullied because, as the author writes, "What happens in the
Village stays in the Village."
