Bacon and Egg Sandwich (© Food and Drink/Rex Features)

Bacon and egg sandwich that costs $120 sounds like it's worth it

We already know Sydney is one of the most expensive cities in the world — so expensive that a bacon and egg sandwich sells there for $120. Luckily for locals, the pricey snack is a one-off special created for (the amazing-sounding) Bacon Week. The invention of chef Carla Jones, from inner-city restaurant 4Fourteen, the sandwich is made of "award-winning" bacon, a pan-fried duck egg, semi-dried and smoked gourmet truss tomatoes, duck foie gras, caviar, creme fraiche, shaved truffles and English cheddar. "It will be interesting to see how many we'll sell," Jones said. "I reckon some people will buy it just to see what it's like."
