Man runs out of beer, calls 911 to get some more

We can appreciate running out of beer might seem like an emergency, but that doesn’t mean you should call 911. Allen Troy Brooks, 67, of Columbia, Tenn., found his Saturday night bereft of brews so he dialed 911 and said to the operator, "Hey, you want to take me to the store? I want to go to the store to get me a beer. I'll pay you." The 911 dispatcher must be making enough coin because she declined the offer, whereupon Brooks insisted "she should come now." The thirsty man was arrested for making 911 calls in a non-emergency, but Brooks says he was trying to call a friend and accidentally dialed 911. We say we need friends like his.
